🚀 Confessions of a Sci-Fi Romance Author

My mother was a huge fan of science fiction, which meant our TV was often tuned to Star Trek. And not just any Star Trek—I actually watched the original series during its first run (yes, I know that gives away my age, but let’s chalk it up to “vintage experience”). Those episodes weren’t just entertainment; they were a doorway into strange new worlds, new civilizations, and endless possibilities.
Of course, the galaxy didn’t stop with Star Trek. The original three Star Wars movies swept in with their blend of adventure, romance, and rebellion. Between the two, I learned that outer space could be both a frontier for ideas and a playground for thrilling stories.

✨ Confession #1 – Sci-Fi Was My First Language
My love for science fiction has been lifelong. Between my mother’s influence, the optimism of Star Trek, and the swashbuckling energy of Star Wars, I grew up dreaming about what might exist beyond the stars. Robert E. Heinlein only deepened that fascination—his characters were bold, his ideas bigger than life, and his stories alive with both grit and heart.
💫 Confession #2 – I Don’t Create Alone
I didn’t invent the Outer Fringe universe by myself. My good friend Georgia Tribell and I have been close for over 25 years, and we’ve always shared a passion for science fiction. Since she’s also an author, it felt almost inevitable that we’d one day create a galaxy-spanning world together. The Outer Fringe was born out of late-night conversations, shared love of space opera, and a mutual desire to tell big stories with even bigger hearts.
📚 Confession #3 – Space Opera is My Happy Place
Action? Check. Adventure? Check. Romance? Always. That’s why space opera feels like home to me. It’s the perfect place to mix daring escapes, intergalactic intrigue, and those quiet, tender moments between two people who find love in the middle of chaos.
That’s what I strive for in the Outer Fringe books. Yes, there are smugglers, assassins, and deadly secrets—but there are also stolen glances, banter in the middle of danger, and the kind of bonds that make survival worth fighting for.
🚀 Confession #4 – Wonder Still Drives Me
Even today, when I look up at the night sky, I find myself asking the same question I asked as a kid: What’s beyond what I can see? And beyond that? And even beyond that? That endless curiosity drives me as both a writer and a reader.
So if you catch me staring a little too long at the stars, don’t worry. I’m probably plotting my next space chase—or maybe, just maybe, a first kiss floating in zero gravity.
